Chad Weininger is a proven leader.
Born and raised in our city, Chad shares our values, our passions, and our desire for something more from our city government.
Chad currently serves as Director of Administration for Brown County – a nonpartisan position he was unanimously appointed to by the Brown County Board of Supervisors. Prior to the appointment, Chad represented the far westside of Green Bay in the Wisconsin State Legislature. He also has owned small businesses in the Green Bay area including a real estate company and a restaurant both located in downtown Green Bay.
As a state lawmaker, Chad authored legislation that facilitated major development initiatives in Green Bay including Hotel Northland and the Titletown Brewing Office buildings. He was the recipient of the first Legislator of the Year award from the Greater Green Bay Chamber’s economic development arm for his work in Madison.
Chad Weininger has a record of results.
During his time working for Brown County, Chad led the efforts for the County to purchase the former WPS Pulliam Plant site to facilitate the moving of the coal piles from downtown to the mouth of the Fox River, and the creation of the Paper Making Corridor that allowed for the $500 million Green Bay Packaging expansion in Green Bay. Chad also initiated the creation of the first gigabyte tech incubator at the Titletown Brewing Redevelopment on Broadway.
Chad’s past roles include serving as Green Bay’s City Clerk overseeing elections and business licenses for the City. He also served as the Chief of Staff to the Green Bay Mayor and was appointed to the Board of Appeals and the Green Bay Planning Commission by Mayor Paul Jadin.
Chad Weininger is invested in doing more.
Chad graduated from St. Norbert College where he put himself through school by working third shift at a local paper mill. He later earned an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University. Most recently, he earned a fellowship to Harvard University for Senior Executives in State and Local Government.
Chad is a husband and father who believes our community deserves a leader who will do what’s best for the people and is running for mayor to usher Green Bay into a brighter, more prosperous future.
From his time as a staff aid to State Senator Robert Cowles to his current role as Director of Administration for Brown County, Chad’s record of public service is extensive and further proof that he lives to serve.
